Alcohol more deadly than ever thought.

Analysis on epidemiological and biological research shed a light on the effect of alcohol in our body. The data strongly point the causal association between alcohol and cancers at seven sites in the body viz: colon, esophagus, female breast, larynx, liver, oropharynx and rectum. Though the biological mechanisms are unknown, the epidemiological evidence support that alcohol causes cancer of the oropharynx, larynx, esophagus, liver, colon, rectum and breast. Current estimates suggest that alcohol-attributable cancers at these sites make up 5.8% of all cancer deaths world-wide.
