Researchers from University of Texas at San Antonio recently put forward an idea of Photodynamic therapy to treat and wipe Cancer cells. In contrast to conventional therapies, they made use of pH dynamics as potential target. Accordingly decrease of pHi, would allow cancer cells to undergo Apoptosis. They were able to decrease pHi in MDA-MB-231 TNBC, leading to apoptosis, using a photosensitizing agent in vitro.
